Planning application 23/01927/FUL - 21 Prebend Street, Bedford. MK40 1QN.
Good Afternoon Mr Ganderton
I have just received a letter from Planning Services dated 5th September 2023 this morning for a planning application made for 21 Prebend Street for a one and two storey extension. I have no idea why this letter has taken so long to get to me but I note that any comments that I have e should have been made by the 3rd October which of course has just recently passed.
I would like to register my opposition to this extremely large extension for the following reasons.
1. The first floor proposed extension, bedroom 3, which is 3 mtrs long will block off all light and views from my first floor bedroom at the back of my house. The view from that bedroom will just be a long 3 mtr wall
2. The ground floor extension proposal is 6 mtrs long. This is almost half of the length of my garden and will also block all light and views into and from my garden.
3. The same applies to the loss of light and views for number 23 Prebend street and also number 17 Prebend street.
4. Please note that my other neighbour, number 17 Prebend street has already had a huge extension which already blocks off more that half of my garden on one side. Therefore, if this planning application is approved, my garden and all windows at the rear of my property will be blocked in on both sides.
5. I note from the plans that the boundary wall of the ground floor extension and first floor extension will be right up to the boundary wall and presumably also replace it, despite the fact that the completed planning application form (section 10) states that the boundary walls will be "generally unaffected".
6. There was also huge tree (at least 30 mtrs high) at the back corner and boundary of number 23 Prebend street and 21 Prebend street which has been cut down very recently, so the roots still exist and will continue to grow.
Whilst I appreciate that the time frame for objections has just recently passed, please be good enough to consider this application as I understand that no decision has been made yet. This will not only affect my house, which is huge, but it will also affect the value.
Thank you
Kind regards
